Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has been commended by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for her brave challenge to her Senate suspension, calling it a democratic victory and a daring assertion of her rights.
Justice Binta Nyako issued the ruling on Friday after Senator Natasha appealed her six-month ban at the High Court.
She decided that the legislator’s constituents were denied their right to representation and that the suspension was unreasonable.

Atiku also praised Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja in a statement released on his official Facebook page on Friday, calling it a brave decision that removed the senator from Kogi Central’s “obnoxious” suspension.
“I also commend Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan for standing up for her rights in a Senate where women are already at risk and contesting the illegality of her suspension. The former vice president went on to say that there is no cost too high for standing up for one’s rights.
